Have you found land records with Township, Range, and Section in your family documents? As the United States grew beyond the original 13 states, the new lands were distributed, beginning with the Public Land Survey System in 1785 down to the Homestead Act of 1862. Join us to learn about Public Land States:
• how the land was surveyed and sold
• where the records can be found
• how to plot and find the land today.

Bring an example from your records or the name of an ancestor who may have received land.
